# AMD Machines: questions for an automation quote request > AMD Machines' own questions for scoping an automation project, a build-to-print machine or machined parts, for AI assistants that interview a buyer and prepare a quote request for AMD Machines. AMD Machines replies by email. No prices or quotes are given here or by any AMD Machines agent service, and nothing reaches AMD Machines until the buyer sends the request. Assistants that can call a web API or connect to a remote MCP server can run the whole loop instead: MCP server https://amdmachines.com/mcp, HTTP API https://amdmachines.com/api/agent-quote/v1/, Agent Skill https://amdmachines.com/.well-known/agent-skills/amd-machines-quote-request/SKILL.md, explained at https://amdmachines.com/agents/. ## If you can only read web pages Some assistants can read pages but cannot send POST requests or connect to MCP servers. Then: 1. Read https://amdmachines.com/agents/questions.txt and interview the buyer with it, the export-control question first. 2. Write the request as plain text, with the brief's headings: Contact and delivery; The application; Parts; Production; Process and quality; Standards and equipment; Site and utilities; Timeline and budget; Files to follow; Open questions. Start it with the line "Prepared with an AI assistant using AMD Machines' agent questions (https://amdmachines.com/agents/)." Use no square-bracket tags. 3. Ask the buyer to paste it into the message box at https://amdmachines.com/contact/, choosing the project type listed for the product, or to email it to sales@amdmachines.com. If you operate a web browser for the buyer, fill in that form only with the buyer's approval. 4. Never put the buyer's contact or project details in a URL. 5. Tell the buyer plainly that nothing has been sent yet. ## Products and their question modules A request names one product and one offering: - `custom_machine` (Custom machine): AMD Machines designs and builds the machine around the buyer's part and process. - `build_to_print_machine` (Build-to-print machine): The buyer supplies the machine design (drawings, bill of materials, schematics) and AMD Machines quotes building the machine to it. - `machined_parts` (Machined parts): Custom parts made to the buyer's drawing or approved sample: laboratory parts, fixtures, tooling and production parts. Any offering can be combined with any product; the first offering listed for a product is its default. On the quote form, choose the project type listed for the product. | id | title | page URL | project type | offerings | modules | ask first (focus) and product questions | |---|---|---|---|---|---|---| | assembly | Assembly Systems | https://amdmachines.com/solutions/assembly/ | Assembly Machines | custom_machine, build_to_print_machine | assembly | req.files, production.annual_volume, req.rate; product questions: machined_parts.tool_life | How a request's questions are put together: - Every request: the universal questions. For custom_machine and build_to_print_machine, also the machine questions and the questions of each of the product's modules; build_to_print_machine adds the build_to_print module. For machined_parts, the machined_parts module replaces the product's modules. A product-specific question belongs to the products it names. - Leave out the questions a module lists under "Leave out with this module". - Ask the export-control question first. On yes, maybe or unknown, collect only the contact details and that answer, and nothing about the project. - Ask the required and high-value questions first, a few at a time, then the product questions listed for the product (in its row of the table above, and under "Product-specific questions"), then the questions tagged "budgetary input" for the request's list (see "What AMD Machines needs for a budgetary quote"), and the others only when the buyer wants to add detail. One rate question is enough: a cycle time, parts per hour, a line takt, a pick rate, a machine cycle or a lab throughput. - "unknown" is an acceptable answer to every question that is not required. Where a question accepts no_preference, offer the matching AMD recommendation below, and use it only if the buyer agrees. - "only if" means: ask the question once that answer is known and the condition holds. A condition on a question that is not part of the request is ignored (for example laser.process in a welding request): ask the question. - An option marked "(machines only)" or "(machined parts only)" applies only to that offering. ## Universal questions (every request) - **Export control** (`compliance.export_control`, enum, high value): Does the project involve ITAR-controlled, export-controlled, classified or CUI information, or might it? Ask this before any technical question.
