Why Simulation-First Development Is Taking Over

Think real-time defect detection at 120 frames per second or adaptive assembly where the robot adjusts insertion force based on a neural network analyzing sensor data — all without round-tripping to a server.

Cognex and Keyence still dominate dedicated vision inspection, but NVIDIA's play is the general-purpose AI inference layer that sits alongside traditional vision systems and adds capabilities like anomaly detection and predictive quality.

What This Means on the Factory Floor

For manufacturers evaluating automation right now, the practical takeaways from NVIDIA's announcements are:
