How a servo press assembly station works
- Part load and locate — the part lands in a rigid nest with hardened locators; pneumatic or servo clamps hold it under repeatable force.
- Component present and verify — vision or presence sensors confirm the insert, bushing, or pin is staged correctly before the ram moves.
- Approach — the ram traverses rapidly to a programmed standoff just above the part.
- Contact and press — the controller switches to closed-loop force or position control and drives the programmed profile to a target depth, peak force, or work value.
- Signature evaluation — the live force-versus-displacement curve is compared in real time against the learned acceptance envelope; any excursion is flagged before the next motion.
- Retract, unload, and sort — the ram returns home, the fixture opens, and the part routes to pass, reject, or rework with the failure code attached.
